Collection: Cinnamon Orchard Old Fashioned

 

Ingredients (1 serving):

  • 2 oz bourbon or dark rum

  • ½ oz apple cider

  • ¼ oz orange liqueur (like Cointreau or Grand Marnier)

  • 1 bar spoon of maple syrup (or honey for a lighter flavor)

  • 1 dash aromatic bitters

  • Ice (large cube preferred)

Garnish:

  • Candied orange slice

  • Thin apple slice

  • Cinnamon stick

  • Orange sugar (for rim)

 

To make the orange sugar:
Zest one orange, mix the zest with 2 tablespoons of sugar, and let it dry for about 15 minutes. Use this to rim your glass by running an orange wedge around the edge and dipping it into the sugar.

 

Directions:

  1. Rim a Venice Coupe glass with your orange sugar and set aside.

  2. In a shaker (or mixing glass), combine bourbon, apple cider, orange liqueur, maple syrup, and bitters. Add ice and stir gently — don’t shake, this keeps it smooth and aromatic.

  3. Strain over a large ice cube into your prepared glass.

  4. Garnish with a cinnamon stick, a candied orange slice perched on the rim, and a thin apple slice floating on top.
